Much has been in flux so far this year especially certainty, I suppose that's just life. I'd like to say I have made a career choice finally, but even that sounds bad since I know it could change, as life does. For the moment though I really believe what a friend once told me as we hiked a trail in Acadia National Park. His words were more true than I knew then and I would like to stick with it. We plan to be back in Acadia this summer and see dear friends with more knowledge and experience we expect this year to be better than ever. Since I began with the NPS in Dec 2014 here in KS Acadia should take us through the summer and then we may return here to KS which could mark 1 full year with the NPS and of course a celebration! Anywho enough about that, what I am most excited to report is on some life improvements. As we always try to grow in body mind and spirit we have been using a low carb diet to maintain a state of ketosis. Today marks 2 straight weeks of testing positive for ketones and its kind of fun. You don't really get hungry and get to eat things like bacon, butter, eggs, avocado, etc that I have classically tried to avoid. Well I'm down almost 20 pounds from December and I'm not hungry and I can eat pretty much what I want, I even get to have extra treats on this diet. I haven't been exercising (shame on me I know but summer and Acadia trails are coming) Only trick is shoot for 0 carbs each day, that's kind of a challenge, not because one craves carbs on keto, but just that carbs are in everything, even hidden in certain things even some things that claim "sugar free"! So today we are going to have a little celebration and break ketosis and go out to a restaurant. Furthermore, we are acquiring supplies for Acadia. Since 2003 I have used a product from mayflash called super dual box to connect my playstation 1 (at the time) then PS2 controllers to my pc since that became my main gaming platform and the playstation had the best controller at the time. Fast forward to today, and I just parted ways with that device that brought hours of enjoyment and old tired and broken controllers in favor of wireless. Thats right, from PS1 to PS2 now to PS3 wireless controllers on PC courtesy of mayflash magic yet again. Got the PS3003 from amazon and a lot of 4 controllers from ebay in assorted colors (generics at $9/ea) and we are so happy! Multiple times last night as we played trine we accounted for the cords by trying to step over them or refrain from certain natural motions until we realized we had gone wireless. If this setup works for 12 years like the last mayflash did, then this will have been a very worthwhile investment! Another item that has been on the list for many years is a decent projector, but worries about bulb replacement and high cost have kept it just on the list. Recently we found one with an LED bulb with decent brightness in a decent resolution at a decent price on, again, Amazon. Not the best, but it could work. Comparable display size on currently manufactured TVs are so large and heavy they don't fit well into our highly mobile lifestyle like a projector would. Now that we have identified a product that could fit our needs and lifestyle we reluctantly went ahead and hit up the old credit card. We expect delivery today and I will do an unboxing and setup video and update this post. I must admit I am very excited about these upgrades, even to the previous generation console controllers and even to a budget conscious projector, it is fun to get new things sometimes.

So we got the projector in, its the EUG X99. got it up and running and measured a 7.5 foot image from placing it across the room. I couldn't find any good information about what it looks like or what the image it projects looks like so I made some so others can make more informed buying decisions. So far we are happy with it.
